Review: Nars Climax Mascara

Review: Nars Climax Mascara

I have recently purchased the new Explicit Black Climax Mascara as I ran out of my previous one. After a disappointing attempt with the Lash Alert Mascara from Eyeko, I was really desperate to find a good mascara. Indeed, I was not disappointed when I found out that Nars just launched a new mascara! Nars has always been one of my favorite makeup brand. In fact, I am a huge fan of their Radiant Creamy Concealer, which I’ve been using for years now. I thought I’d give it a try and decided to purchase it.

Back at home. The next day.

First of all, I was seduced by the packaging and the design of the product. It has such a chic and bold aspect, and the thickness of the wand is just perfect for a controlled application and sense of motion. How many times did the wand slipped off from my hand as it was too tiny or sleek? Well, it did happen to me quite a few times and let’s be honest; when being in a rush and trying to get your makeup done, nobody needs a slippery mascara wand!

The brush itself is quite thick and presents a lot of straight picks, which enables lash covering from the first passage. I like it when the brush grabs all the lashes at once, so I don’t have to go through them again, it’s a serious time-saving trick, as you touch up your make up throughout the day.

Casual or sophisticated, this product conveys an adjustable effect, depending on the desired look.

Texture wise, I really enjoyed that it is easy to work with, almost like a whipped cream. It does not dry right away and does not leave any residues during the day. However, it is not a waterproof mascara, and easily goes away under water! Depending on your preference, you may opt for different textures if this is an important criteria for you, although I did not experience any smudging problems so far.

Moreover, if you are wearing contact lenses, or bear sensitive eyes (like I do), this formula is hypoallergenic and I did not have itchy eyes, even after a full day wearing it. The color is very intense, which is also a MUST for me, whenever I purchase a new mascara. Indeed, I love that I can apply less product and still get those Bambi eyes!

Last but not least, another advantage of this product would definitely be its price (25€ on Sephora.fr). The price-quality ratio is an excellent one, taking into account that it is not a drugstore mascara.

Overall, I would highly recommend you this mascara if you are searching for a non-smudgy & non-clumpy product, and an adjustable effect, allowing you versatility in your daily makeup looks!
